I implemented Markku Seguerra’s comment highlighting, which means that it’s possible for me to give small medals (I was in a hurry, okay?!) to comments that I find particularly interesting. I have so far highlighted a single comment in the Planes vs. Trains entry.
In the future I hope to use it for making it faster for the people who aren’t so much interested in walking through each single comment, to still keep tabs on the discussions. It won’t work in RSS.
This plugin was inspired by Dave Shea’s recent update to his blog.
Seems a nice plugin, might use it on a new project I am working on with a group of friends to mark all the comments by the staff.
Doesn’t Wordpress have a registration feature for comments? Wouldn’t be too hard to highlight comments from registered users in some way.
BB is becoming features galore … I have another one for you Staticize plugin.
I already have that in the queue :)
She sells seashells down by the seashore.
The staticize plugin, when activated, outputs my site as white… :)
You don’t like minimalistic designs then?

That won’t give you a boost of energy here Sherlock ;)
I was wondering if maybe separating the highlighted comments to the top of the list might be a good idea. or the context is important then maybe a list at the top to link to the highlighted ones.
It just occurred to me after looking through one of the kubrick entries that its easy to miss the important comments.
I havent got any highlighting of comments on my site (apart from my own comments) as I dont have enough but it could be useful for yours which regularly get 30+
btw, i dont seem to be getting subscribed comments through email as per the little tick box in this comment area. it might not be working on mine either but ive not got any complaints ;-)
