Return of the King Extended Preview

Viggo Mortensen

I would normally seperate something like this onto the sidebar, however since I am very very much looking forward to this DVD set, I figured it could do with some primetime.

There is a new 6 minute preview of the Return of the King Extended Edition up.

I don’t think it had really hit home with me, just how much I really am looking forward to this, the final reunion and goodbye with the greatest trilogy of all time. As I was watching the preview, I could feel it welling up in me once again.

My fingers will be numb for a week when I am done penning my homage…

PS: I have finally flickrized the best of the photos from the Return of the King Premiere, here in Copenhagen last christmas.

  • Very nice, I am really looking forward to this now.

  • Oh and nice to see you have a gravatar now. Very snazzy.

  • oooopsy. gravatar support. i’d think of this as more people would comment on my website… =S

TROTK extended version will – or better: is going to be to – kick some major ass. just like every other extended version has before.

    good night everybody.

  • I bought a bigscreen tv just so I can watch this in all it’s glory. :)

  • Wow. 50 minutes worth of new footage! Plus, they address stuff like (spoilers…) the gap between the trip into the mountain and the arrival with the dead on the ships. Actually, now that I think about it, that’s kind of how the book dealt with it – at the time, they sort of showed up, but then you got the explanation later…

So many good parts (though perhaps some liberty with stuff like the battle with Saruman). Can’t wait.

  • Hmm, perhaps I need to change my email to get it to pick up the gravatar…?

  • jeez, you know it’s gonna be good when the preview gives you goosebumbs and a tingle down your spine…

  • I look set for over 4 hours of asskicking, that’s for sure!

  • After doing such a fantastic job of the Lord Of The Rings, it makes you wonder what King Kong is going to be like, eh? Peter Jackson is obviously a talented individual, it it seems unlikely that he’s going to make an arse of it.

  • I look set for over 4 hours of asskicking, that’s for sure!

4 hours?!? Wow. Couple that with the several hours from the first two and you’ve got like what, 12 hours of LOTR? Fantastic. One of these days I’m just going to take the day off work and have my own hobbit telethon.

  • In college we used to do that around Thanksgiving with the Star Wars Trilogy. We’d baste a turkey, and baste ourselves (with beer and other libations), meanwhile watching all six hours or whatever.

To think about double that – that’s some hardcore couch time!

  • I must say that both LOTR and BinaryBonsai rock! I like the movie and new theme.

  • Yeah we’ve done our share of Star Wars’athon’s as well. Which was bad enough with just 3 movies… But LotR counts in at about 11 hours and 20 minutes or something like that!

I don’t know if I can do it in one sitting :D
