Yes, you laugh. Go right ahead. You too can question my sexual orientation, as my coworkers did earlier today when I received the package. But the bottomline is that a scratched iPod makes me cry myself to bed at night. Now where’s my Powerbook Sock?
PS: Notice how the blue and pink align perfectly with the Freya colorscheme? Apple does love me!

Garret’s got iPod Socks

I cant say Ive not been tempted – at-least as a gift if nothing else. I ended up getting an iskin though.
No Michael, it’s you who love Apple. But we all knew that already, didn’t we? ;-)
Your PowerBook sock? Look no further… http://foofbag.com/

Is it an Apple rip-off or the other way around?
Seeing how you seem to have a very close, personal relationship with your iPod, I fear to contemplate in what other ways you might also use those “iPod” socks….
:D
Very designerish! The iPod is so expensive, such a large investment, that it makes sense in invest in protecting it :-)
I’ve read all the ipod case reviews on ipodlounge and didn’t really find what i was looking for. Luckily Apple came up with a very simple solution.. great gift.
I do use the grey sock though.. i’m not man enough to wear pink ;)
Ha !
Apple’s finally catching up..My mp3 discman from iRiver came with a ‘glove’ to keep it safe. (The iMP 400 if you’re wondering)
You might ask, so what?
Hint: It was two years ago, and noone is going to question your sexual preferences :)
I have seriously considered getting a set of socks for my brand new green mini. If nothing else it’s on my wishlist
I’m not man enough to have a pink mini, but I’d “wear” the pink sock.
Correct! It is Michael who loves Apple. Freya was born 11 days after the first pair of iPod socks was sold.
Haha, well there you have it ;)
:D
I seem to remember the original iPods came with a sort of sleeve, I still have mine knocking around somewhere,
I’d probably buy an iPod sock if I was an Apple aficionado and if that were the case it would have to be orange.
However, I need to get an iPod before I consider buying a sock for it. ;)
I won’t be questioning your sexuality because these socks are incredible. While priced slightly high, they are stylish, simple, and fun. I’ve already bought a set for my girlfriend and one for my best friend and his girlfriend to share.
If you want a sock for your powerbook, you need a FoofBag. I think their foofpod’s are better than the socks, as well.
These socks pretty much defines why Apple is Apple and Dell/Gateway will remain computer salesmen. They are cute, uni-gender, branded, lovable, gift-sized and just reek style and care from both the manufacturers as well as the customers.
The fact that they are biological (yes, yes, they might very well be made entirely from polyester, but they feel natural) sets them apart from other containers. Indeed, I would have created the iSkin, or something similar, if someone had tasked me to create an iPod protector, but my product would have sold to men only. A sock! It’s so simply, it’s gotta work.
Can’t they make a cool version voor PC people? Something with nails rammed into stainless steel, and bearskin finish?
Well, its about time they made something for you?!
Anyone who dares disrespect ipod socks will have to come through me first :P.
Off topic, I’m getting the exact same error from del.icio.us on my site.
On topic, I prefer the foofpod covers.
How sweet is that? Anyone who really loves his iPod (You remember that Quicktime Clip about “real iPod love”?) should buy theese incredible socks to protect his/her little friend and at least to catch the views of other people using public transport system :)
If i had a PowerBook i would also order a foofpod instead using a boring notebook case or backpack like everyone else.
I want one for my Rio Carbon…
Oh the foofpod covers are neat too…great, now I’‘m torn :(.
Heh, come to the foofpod light Geoffrey…
I bought three foofpod covers and am now measuring up my widescreen Toshiba laptop for a foofbag as we speak, my defence of the ipod socks was sadly short lived :(. I think I’m turning into a girl.
so I guess its ok to say that Apple rocks my socks then :D
Shouldn’t that be: “My Apple iPod Socks rock!”? ;)
I’m also in love with the iPod Stickers that HP has the template for.
They’re a bit expensive (comes out to $5 USD per sock), but they’re great. I’m actually considering buying another box so that I can change the colour from time to time (I gave a sock to each of my friends so I only have the gray one).
It should also be mentioned that they do make a good case, too.
I love ‘em. I think they’re beautiful, but I can’t believe Apple used that name. Think about it, it’s only one letter away from “iPod Sucks.” Is that the kind of publicity you want when you’re Apple?
Lol :D, not really that bad
Ee.. Now my life has just got more complicated, half of me likes the iPod socks concept, the other half is having a “foof” moment..
Decisions decisions.
For your Powerbook… A friend of mine uses a cutoff jean leg for his 12” PB. Fits very nicely and no fear of falling out the smaller end…
iPod Socks, Powerbook Jeans? Why not. ;)
How do these protect the iPod from, well, anything? Maybe I’m just not seeing it…
And those colors… ick.
Sean, minor shocks and scratches… Oh, and the winter cold :)
Hi,
To answer to what Gunnar said,
“Is it an Apple rip-off or the other way around?”
No, it’s not an Apple rip off. We actually were selling our foofpod months before Apple announced their iPod sock. We started back in Ireland in June 2004. Besides, they are really very different products.
If you are torn between foofness and ipod sockness, then keep this in mind:
do you want something millions of people are going to have? Or do you want something that is only possessed by a stylish few?
I wouldn’t wear mountain socks in public, nor a latext suit. I’d go for corduroy or old man tweed myself…
i’ve had a few foof moments also.
