Dear Marketing Guys: Please make up your mind, is it a white futuristic font, or a black serif font? Compare and Contrast:
Personally I’m all for the white font, but that’s because it looks like the one Cameron used on the Sulaco in Aliens, and I get all nostalgic about the thought of the Sulaco crashing into the sea and the wonderful never-gonna-be sequel that might have been…
Update: I knew I had seen the Sulaco with white type instead of black somewhere. It took me a little while to dig up a photo of it (I could’ve just captured a still from the DVD, but I couldn’t be bothered, ironically). It’s from Alien 3, the mother of all inconsistency sequels.
Black in Aliens, white in Alien 3. I personally like white better.

yes, the font nerd in me says it’s some form of Eurostile. Seems to work better than the Bodoni of the serif one. Just this man’s opinion.
I agree. The white font makes it look like a sinking spaceship – which btw would make an awesome movie. This however makes the serif-font more fitting.
That font is Eurostile Extended Bold, and is the same font that NASA uses for type on their shuttles.
I’m not positive but I’m 99%.
Edit: By the way, I prefer the serif font for that specific poster. I agree with the Alien thing, but for a film entitled “Poseidon” it just seems more appropriate with a serif.
Yeah, the swimming aliens in Ressurection worked really well. One of the few things that did…

Well I guess you could have the company come in and try to salvage the wrecked Sulaco (which rolled onto its side at the bottom of the sea), with nautical marines :D
They try to enter through the top of the hull, where they slice their way through.
And of course, in this Alien 3, Hicks is still alive to kick some ass :)
@ Ed, matthew: My inner font nerd says it probably is Microgramma instead. Here in Mexico the movie has not arrived yet, so, I can’t talk about it.
