I’ll be heading to Jutland this weekend, where I’ll spend a couple of days with no Internet access. And it hit me that I would miss Wikipedia quite a bit, as I’ve been using it for reference quite a bit lately. But then I came to thinking, Wikipedia is available for download, but that would require of me to jump through all kinds of hoops to get it up and running.
What I really want is a Wikipedia Offline dashboard widget or something to that effect. Anyone know of any projects to this effect?
PS: Lifehacker has a local Wikipedia tutorial
There is the Wikipedia on iPod (which no doubt youre aware of) but that means linux on the iPod.
There is Xampp or MacOSX as well.
Can’t say anything about it since I have no Mac, but on Windows I certainly prefer Xampp on Wamp. Install Xampp and start it over the control panel whenever you need it. Lovely localhost to me.
Can’t help you for the widget tho.
Wikipedia on my Treo 650. Nothing beats it. The biggest killer ap in my life since… well, since Wikipedia itself.
Have you seen iPodulator? Although you have to purchase it.
