More Terminator Sequelness on the Way?

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. is raising hundreds of millions of dollars to produce sequels to some of its most popular films, such as The Terminator and The Pink Panther, at a time Wall Street investors are eager to pay for movie making in Hollywood, the company’s chairman said. #

More Terminator sequels? Cameron help us all…

NiN and Star Wars

Though known for playing bass for such heavy-hitters as Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, and A Perfect Circle, Jeordie White’s music endeavors actually began with a band whose main muse was Star Wars. Around the late ’80s in Florida, White and his friends formed the thrash metal band Amboog-a-Lard. Their only album, aptly named A New Hope, focused entirely on the themes and characters of the original trilogy.

Just over a month till the Copenhagen NiN concert!

Deepcore Lives

Ostensibly, the external set for the submersed drilling platform, Deepcore, from The Abyss still sits, rusting away, in the abandoned nuclear facility. wicked!

Science Fiction Friday

It’s friday once again, and here are trailers for science fiction movies that really wanted to be the caliph instead of the caliph (huh?)…

High-Pitched Whine From Power Supply?

Recently I have noticed that the power supply for my Cinema Display has started emitting a high-pitched whine at night when it’s sleeping. It’s almost inaudible. Almost…

I have no idea what to do about this. I would shut it down on the switch, but that means turning off all the power in the bedroom (It’s an old building, one power outlet per room), and I hate not being able to simply sleep my computer.

I remember my old CRT monitor having the same problem, and it drove me nuts!

What the hell do I do!?

WP2.1 and the Tip of the RSS Iceberg

Figured out why my RSS feed isn’t displaying the full post anymore. Apparently WordPress now truncates posts that use the <more> tag in RSS feeds. Funny, it never did that before. I am, now, quite pissed. #

Amen brother. Amen.

I would have written a rant about this, but I just could not be bothered. But anything Christopher says, I agree with 100%. Why would you change core functionality in a point update? It doesn’t make any sense at all. Especially since it actually removes the choice between excerpts and full-length feeds…

I’ve always proudly served full-length feeds, since I firmly believe that excerpted feeds are lame. And now, with this new functionality, I no longer have the choice.

Adding injury to injury, the new ‘excerpt’ doesn’t even indicate to the reader of the feed that they are only seeing the tip of the iceberg!…

First forced rel=nofollow. Then snap. Now this?

Seriously.

It’s Friday Dammit!

And here’s something to send you on your way.

In Clouds of Glory

Last friday I had the great pleasure and privilege of playing what must surely be one of, if not the best WWI dog-fighting boardgame in the world: Clouds of Glory. And believe you me, it is truly something to behold.

Oh Snap!

I just saw this article on Digg about how to ‘speed up Safari‘ by reducing the ‘page load delay‘ in preferences. In the comments are many testimonials like “Oh my gosh! Safari is so much faster now!“ This just goes to prove how inaccurate people’s powers of perception are when it comes to measuring the performance of browsers. I say this because the preference in question is dead and does absolutely nothing in Safari 1.3 and Safari 2.0. :) #

Ralph McQuarrie Art Book Coming

There’s a 400-page Ralph McQuarrie art book on its way in 2007. I can’t wait!

“The ones we’re most excited to be offering are three thumbnail drawings Ralph did the day he got the script from George Lucas and Gary Kurtz,” explains Scoleri. “On the surface, they’re just three little pencil sketches of two spaceships flying around a planet — but when you realize the historical significance of these pieces, you’re taken aback. We’re talking about the FIRST Star Wars drawings — ever!”

Other than his Star Wars work, I’m really looking forward to finally seeing his Battlestar work in high quality.

Buying: Space Hulk

Space Hulk

Do you remember Space Hulk? I want to buy it, and it is nowhere to be found. It seems people on eBay can’t be bothered with mailing things out of their own respective countries, none of which happen to be Denmark…

I am more specifically looking for the first edition if possible.

Damn The New Google Images

Have you seen the recently redesigned Google Images? Apparently in an effort to make it more clean or something, they decided to only show resolution information on mouseover…

What were they thinking? Resolution is what I use the most when I use Google Images! So I figured I’d split it open and see if I couldn’t fix it with a quick CSS file or something…

I have no words. Much like the Matrix, no one can be told what that code resembles… Best you take a look for yourself.

Nike+ Adds Routes

The Nike+ site now has a new map feature, which allows you to set up your running routes. It’s a great addition, though the small size of the peephole window is quite annoying. I don’t know if this is active for all countries, but as with some of the other US-only features, you can always just pick the US version, regardless of where in the world you are.

Nike+ added a map feature

Check out my feeble 3km Peblingesø Minor route or the 1.5km longer Peblingesø Major, which I will be having a go at tomorrow.

Oh Snap!

Pondering a recent entry, I came to the conclusion that some decisions simply dumbfound me. I mean… I literally don’t know what to say. But at least I’m glad I’ve got Kottke, Gruber, Boing Boing, Jeremy Keith and Bruce Sterling on my side.

Crazy Quiksilver Ad

Quite funny to come across this great ad for Quiksilver one of my favorite brands of clothing, which is shot right around the end of the lake (Peblingesø) I run around every other day. Hell, I didn’t even know Quiksilver was a danish brand… (via)

Flickr, Respect Your Users

In what is looking to be a catastrophically malnutrition’d bachelor weekend, I’ll see if I can’t catch up on some of my blogging, and I thought I would start with this whole flickr ordeal.

First of all, let me just say: “Wow, that turned ugly pretty fast, didn’t it?!” Continue reading ‘Flickr, Respect Your Users’

Enso Price Drop

It seems like it was only yesterday (it was in fact the day before yesterday), that we talked with Aza Raskin about Enso and its price. And today, the price of Enso dropped from $25 to $20, which for me is the magic number. For now I’m still evaluating my use of Enso, to see if it is something I genuinely use on my Windows PC here at work.
