So I was running late this morning and I was afraid I would miss breakfast at work. So I swung by a bakery on my way to pick up an OJ and a buttered bun (well, they’re called ‘rundstykker’ in Denmark, but nevermind). As the guy is splitting the bun, he twitches; I’m thinking he’s cut himself or something, but he continues with buttering up my bun (…) and I think nothing of it.
Then, after I’ve paid and I’m on my way out, I notice that he is holding a napkin in his hand, covering a cut… Doesn’t look bloody, but am I willing to chance it? Do I really want to eat piece of bread that has been in someone else’s cut hand?
No, not so much.
So I reluctantly toss it on my way to work and grumble over wasted money and his lack of manners.
Other people; I swear.
You didn’t go back and say look I’m not comfortable with eating this, can I’ve another? Even if it was “clean”, it’s gross.
The other day I was ordering tzatziki, bread and some abergine … concoction. The lady dropped my coin into the tzatziki. She did quickly pick it up from the tzatziki, but other than that the tzatziki remained as it was. Coin imprint and all. Delish.
Chris, I was too flabbergasted to act. I should’ve though.
Wise decision…and very poor customer service!
Ugh! If that happened to me, I’d be all over asking if the guy was all right and then asking for another bun. Bad form on his part for even proceeding with buttering it up. Totally get the whole “too flabergasted” thing. The guys actions would have suprised me too. Sorry about your breakfast. My day get’s screwed when I don’t eat a good first meal.
Stop whining, it’s good protein. Eat your bloody round piece. :P
Hahaha, oh man, not your day, huh?
I know how you feel. Sometimes I can’t help but think, “I HATE PEOPLE!”
You should have went back and tell him it’s not funny to spread his blood over your food!
Other people – bad experiences
