  Am I excited to see the new Predator movie? No. Will I see it? Doubtful. Would the world be a better place without it? Most likely.

  It was alright, but the problem for me with Rodriguez is that where Tarantino synthesizes grindhouse and exploitation with his own sensibilities, where Rodriguez simply copies. Planet Terror is exactly what you’d expect it to be, nothing more, maybe a little less… Death Race on the other hand is inventive and surprising. Too much for its own good perhaps, but rather that than not…

  Apologies, I had been reading about Ib Melchior, who wrote The Racer, which became Death Race (under Corman). Brainfart in other words :D
