I really love iTunes, I do. It is so easy to find what you need that it’s unheard of. The interface is lean and mean with no ‘premium services’ buttons to be seen for miles and miles. It’s about my music, nothing else! That said, there is a thing or two I would like to tweak ever so slightly.

When I moved to Scotland about 2 years ago I left behind all of my CD collection (as well as all my VHS movies and a good collection of books), but I brought all my music with me as MP3’s. When I got back I initially thought it inevitable that I would be getting my CD’s back from my brother who’s been safeguarding them. But we, that is Rikke and I, have decided to not haul our CD’s to Copenhagen. After all, what’s the point?
All our music is stored digitally at the moment and while there’s a few gigs left to get under control (mostly hers), it is all indexed with complete information and album covers, making it immediatly accessible (especially with iTunes!) and the added bonus of not scratching the CD’s whenver you want to listen to them is certainly not to be discounted either.
So while it’s sad to say goodbye (for now) to all those CD’s that, for a large part, have grown and follow me for a decade; it is time to move on to greener pastures.
It’s been lurring in the shadows for a while, but I think I can finally say:
There is now a week until Rikke and I shuffle all our stuff into the back of a van and begin the 5-hour trek across the Danish countryside. (Well technically Rikke won’t be on that particular trip, but symbolically that’s the story).
Rikke has been living in Aalborg the past 5 years, a couple of them with me before I moved to Scotland for 2 years, and it’s now time to make the next step, which goes to Copenhagen. This is of course in preparation for me starting at IO Interactive in the beginning of January.
So consider this a shoutout: If you’re available and willing to lend a helping hand, then we would be very greatful to receive your help (hint hint, nudge nudge). Especially considering that the ‘move-team’ will consist of myself, my mother and my step-father; so any viril ‘meat’ will do great service :). (Tom, you’re not viril, but you already promised to help!)
Gimme a shout if you’re available and I’ll fill you in with the info.
PS: My apologies, but the flow of entries will slow down over the next couple of weeks. We’re currently shoving all our stuff into boxes, a tedious job if ever there was one, and once we hit Copenhagen it’s not entirely certain when the Internet feed is put down. (On that note, I’m upgrading to a 1MBit line, ka-ching!).
SCMZZZZZZZ.jpg” class=“alignright” alt=“Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon” />In a first here at the good ‘ol Binary Bonsai, I would like you all to welcome my very good personal friend Bjørn – who actually has his own blog. He has a few thoughts on Broken Sword 3: The Sleeping Dragon.
I have absolutely no concept of Perl, so someone help me. I would like to use the Perl script on this page, how do I do that?
Continued from Step 1 – The CPC464 and CPC664.
And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. For ‘a litte while’ computers passed out of all knowledge. Until, when chance came, they ensnared another user.
For a while my rising passion for computers slowly died down again. I quite honestly forget just when and what happened to the good old CPC664, but I seem to recall that it was sold in the paper. Most likely due to me needed money for something else. This relocation of ‘actives’ to raise money for something new is certainly nothing new in my life as a geek (damn me for selling my X-Wing toy!).
Continue reading ‘Step 2 – The 286, the plot thickens’I found this ‘digital IQ’ thing via Tony. Truthfully several of the questions were a bit so-so in terms of their relevance to reality. I wonder if they weren’t testing the weight of your wallet rather than you digital aptitude. But hey it’s a chance for me to beat my chest and do some ug-ug’ing and I never say no to that!

Knock yourself out.
