Would you Windows people please stop spreading that damn virus that’s going around these days? It’s cluttering up my inbox.

You've reach the blog of Michael Heilemann. This small 'about' blurp really should have more text and a few links in it, but I can't be bothered, as I seem to break it constantly anyway. So, instead I suggest you take your pointer, move it around and see what you can click. Maybe you'll find something interesting.
For now, you can have a look at Flickr, Google Reader Shares, Last.fm, Allconsuming, del.icio.us, MobyGames, tumblr, LinkedIn or Digg
Oh no … Michael has succumbed into believing his system secure just because nobody writes a virus for it :)
Like any other system, the Mac will be riddled with security holes, I guarantee you. Just because there’s not enough programmers (or script kiddies, take your pick) who persue a virus writing career for Mac does not inherrently make the Mac a more secure product, just one with higher programming entry costs. But it does make it a safer product, just like using a lock system nobody else uses on your front door.
Now Outlook Express, and anything below Outlook 2003, you can flame all you want. Those products are truly mind-boggling insecure and will trust any email to direct them.
(dons flame suit)
Actually I belong to the surprisingly small amount of Mac newbies who understands this :) — I even have a virus scanner! (Yes, one that I paid for!!)
So there!
The funny/ironic thing being that even though I’m not on windows, I’m being affected by this virus nonetheless.
The stupid/moronic thing is that there are nitwits, brainless moronic salvadorés that still to this day will open a mail from an unknown person and run an executable.
I seriously hope that one day someone writes something that formats the drive irreparably of the person who does this, hopefully then they will learn a thing or two.
Well if you get it from me please let me know because I am yet to install Norton because its so slow and crappy, although I have common sense :D
i think the people who write viruses are trying to eradicate all stupid people, the ones who open emails and run .exe’s. THe only problem is we are collateral :P
Collateral Damage 2: When Viruses Attack! (Yes, it’s virUSES, not virA!)
Arnold is taken hostage by his mother as she tries to force him to fix her computer which has been killed off by a stupid-user-virus. Few hours later they discover that her moronity (it’s a word!) has sent off mails to 150 other people.
Arnold gets mad and says loudly and with an undeniable Austrian accent: “De only diffvence is I’m goink to kill yuu!”
Hey, what have you got stinking in there?!
FOCK YUU AZHOLL
screw viruses, its viri, or virod, like peni or penod, octupi, octupod :)
No. Here’s why.
link botched?
VERDAMMT! Now I have to find out why the hell it does that… Either way: http://www.perl.com/language/misc/virus.html
Its viruses :D
This has been discussed here before :P
You’ve gotta hand it to the author though. He figured: “Why use security holes when people are moronic enough to do all the hard work for me?!”
Yep :)
20 more today… For the love of Yod people!
Dude, I haven’t received a single one. This is why you should guard your e-mail address furiously.
Bah. What good is an email if I can’t use it?
Hey, the emails might be irritating but atleast you didn’t have to clean it out of a corporate network. Talk about a nightmare. Was the first time I’ve ever wished for a network of Linux computers. Well, that was until the Linux boxes decided to fubar themselves.
Sure you can use it. Just like I use mine right here: – Send me an email: See my contact options at http://www.sunbeam60.net/contact.html
Amounts to the same thing, though no harvesters can pick up your address. And all your own email addresses, either have javascript assemble an email address in client memory and launch the mail program for you or simply include pictures of your email address.
I have not received a single one either! And I do not guard my e-mail address furiously!
