Exciting New Direction

I have noted, as have some of you from time to time, that many of the entries over the last 3-4 months have been increasingly shorter and more and more one-sided. I am talking of course about the tendency that this blog shares with so many other blogs; the tendency to run in circles around a few select subjects.

So fresh and so clean clean

No, brothers and sisters. Your eyes do not deceive you, it is so. Under the cover of darkness this cold February weekend, a new layout has most certainly crept onto these very pages. Bleeding the old and leaving it lying helpless – alone – in the dust.

But that is the way of the blog-assasin; it’s a cold and merciless world.

Gum, tape and good faith

That’s about all that’s holding the big B together these days. My last upgrade – and I am to blame for this – went horribly wrong.

So thank you for your mails about the various subpages being broken, I am aware and I am working every free minute on fixing it. Which is also the reason I haven’t posted too much the last week. I’ll have the results of my labors online shortly, but I want everything to be juuust right.

Meanwhile, drop links to cool sites in the comments, I need new stuff…

Also. I need a new host. It’s decided.

So I’m looking for a server running Apache, preferably around 100 Megs of space, though I can do with 50-60. PHP, mySQL mandatory. I would really prefer it if it was Scandinavian, no offence to you people whose forefathers didn’t rape and pillage down the coasts of France, dragging off virgins into longboats, but it’ll just be easier to deal with.

Unreal Tournament 2004

Unreal Tournament 2004

The Unreal Tournament demo has really reinvigorated my desire to play first person shooters. For the longest time I’ve felt that most of the stuff I’ve tried had been stagnated boring same-ol’ same-ol’, but UT2K4 looks like it’s going to seriously kick my ass.

By now it has become tradition that we take 2-4 rounds every day after lunch and sometimes a few more rounds before we go home at night. Holy mother of Yod it’s good fun. We’re all trembling with anticipation for the full release!

Grey Tuesday

Grey Tuesday

It’s grey tuesday today. A Whole Lotta Nothing tells you why and in case you can’t get the Grey Album over there, you can find it here. It’s about 64Megs.

Update: Tha- tha- that’s all folks. But you can still get it through the Grey Tuesday site if you didn’t catch it first time around.

Immortel trailer

This trailer for Immortel is certainly worth keeping an eye on! It feels like a strange mixture of Fifth Element, Equillibrium and Star Gate… And it definetly feels French :).

Also worth your time today is a special preview for Ghost in the Shell: Innocense. It’s rather long and very moody (though the music veers dangerously close to cheesy j-pop slowed down). If they pull this off with the same artistic level as the first Ghost in the Shell, it could come close to being the Blade Runner of our time.

Styling the li?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to style the point type of the LI element when it’s being used with decimal? So I can for instance change the font…
