The picture from the previous entry is in fact the main house of Skywalker Ranch. Skywalker Ranch being of course the home to George Lucas and his closest associates, such as Ben Burtt (Sound Designer and Editor on Star Wars) and Rick McCallum (Producer on Star Wars). It is also the home to Skywalker Sound and excepting ILM’s effort (ILM is located some 7-8 miles from the ranch) it is the pre- and post-production facilities for Star Wars and a great deal of other movies.
So why am I mentioning this, and what exactly makes this so damn cool?

If you tell me what this is, I will tell you why my world just got a lot cooler. (if you work for IO, you don’t count).

Ho-ho-hoo. I just saw the latest chapter of Clone Wars. After being rid of his lightsaber Mace Windu – second only to Yoda – (Samuel L. Jackson’s character in the new trilogy) is left without a weapon in the desert. What he needs the lightsaber for I’m not quite sure, cuz daaaamn! It’s a hilarious 3 minutes of pure destruction derby as droids are dispatched left and right. Personally, I like the cashregister sound…
You’ll want to make sure you see chapter 12 first however, as this 13 is a direct continuation of the story from that.
I saw mine on Hyperspace, so I haven’t bothered finding a link where the second season can be found. But if you happen to have one, feel free to share it with the group.

Ghost in the Shell: Innocense looks like the original Ghost in the Shell to the power of 10. Here’s yet another trailer for you to feast your eyes on. Thank you Tom for bringing this to my attention.

While it’s not official as such, I think this will bring much joy and hope to some people that I know very well. And as with any other time I mention Spaced: If you haven’t seen this amazing series yet, you’re a nut!
“Despite what certain national newspapers might have said, Series 2 is not the last series of Spaced. There will be a third series of Spaced – we just don’t know when.”

Mmmm, doesn’t that just warm your heart!? Kudoes goes to Rikke for digging out this little nugget of gold.
Also, if you’re having problems with my RSS feed, could you leave a comment about it? I got word from from Tomas Jogin that it had a tendency to update all the time.
Which leads me to another little snippet. Bandwidth is being sucked at about 80 megs or so a day. With that rate I will meet the bandwidth limitation at some point next month. So I have taken the minor precaution of dropping the number of entries in the RSS feed from 10 to 5. And then I’ll see if I can’t compress some of the page elements better and see if that helps.
There is however something you can do. Something in my mind you should do regardless. Make sure you aren’t polling for RSS feed every minute, 5 minutes or 10 minutes. While the RSS feed is pure text, I get a lot of hits on it every day, and by now you should know that I don’t update every minute :)

This is really a question directed at Sean, but I thought I’d ask it in public since others might be interested in it.
Why does the DGA get to decide whether or not a director can put a certain name on a movie? I’m asking because I just watched American History X and I know that Tony Kaye and Edward Norton had some fights over the final cut of the movie, which eventually resulted in Tony Kaye wanting to have the credits read: Directed by Humpty Dumpty.
However, the DGA wouldn’t let him, and they also turned down another proposal from New Line. (One can wonder why they didn’t Alan Smithee it, but hey…). So what’s the story on that?

Continuing on the whole Star Wars thing (It comes to me in waves. This is a wave). Clone Wars – the animated series – season 2 premiered today… Or maybe yesterday… Either way it’s started and I suggest you check it out, it’s really cool if you dig the style. It’s a lot less solemn than E1 and E2 and I personally enjoy it hella much :)
If you’re a Hyperspace member then you already know that they’ll be carrying the entire season as it premiere’s, and that’s where I’ll be catching it. I think it was comic-store-guy from Simpsons who said it best when he said:
“Worst Cosmic Wars ever! I will only see it three more times… today.
PS: You can download them here.
PS again: This is a pretty cool trailer for season 2.
