Return of the… What?!

Well, the rumors weren’t wrong. Neither were the ‘perhaps they’re doctored’ leaked images from the DVD. Andy digs up the proof. But beware, this’ll probably shatter all hopes that you may have of preserving your childhood memory of Star Wars.

From the Return of the Jedi, by way of Andy’s linkblog, I bring you “The Return of Hayden“.

    AAAAAAAAAAAH!

And I thought the first bout of revisionism was bad…

Screw George Lucas and his revisionist ideas. I ain’t giving him one fucking cent, and he can suck my balls.

Thank god they released the originals on Laserdisc… and thank god for modern technology :)

Time will tell how real this is but in the case that it is…

The actor they chose to play the unmasked Vader was a SEVERE disappointment in the originals. I have always hated that choice. It’s been the joke of the past several decades to hear the powerful James Earl Jones’ voice emanating from the depths of the Vader helm only to have it revealed that he’s really a poncy Brit with a speech impediment. Read my keyboard: MAJOR LETDOWN!

On the other hand revisionist tendencies by Lucas may very well hurt sales by alienating fans—-as George is often known for. Hayden wasn’t a terrible actor but he certainly was a terrible choice for Anakin and further proof that the charm and wonder of Star Wars died with episode 6.

The new version is already available to download on Bit Torrent, if you guys don’t wanna give money to George Lucas.

Damn it. Are they gonna do a face/head replacement on Vader when Luke takes his helmet off in the Death Star??

Rob:, At this point, it wouldn’t surprise me.

First of: I’m more than a little pissed of with the change, but right thereafter another horrible idea pops into my head: does this mean in the next re-release of Star Wars, is Alec Guiness going to be digitally replaced with Ewan McGregor in all the originals.

George Lucas should get a restraint order, never to get nearer than 100 km to the original trilogy.

OMFG – I can’t even fathom this. I put up with the removal of the “Chub-Chub” song, but this is an outrage. I had not problem with him wanting to clean up what he saw as incomplete movies, but this is sickening. And somehow he doesn’t seem to understand how any of his decisions lead to increased bootlegging of the movies. The Trilogy is suddenly no longer a must-have on DVD.

Oh while I remember it. On one of the news sites I visit there was a link to this page: http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/gs2.cgi?path=../multimedia/images/large-moons/images/PIA05423.jpg&type=image

It seems that the Death Star is coming for us
