In half an hour, Rikke and I will begin our trek back to Copenhagen and everyday life. It’s been a busy and quite satisfying Christmas. To all those whom I had the fortune of hooking up with on the 25th: good to see you all again!
How devastating then it was to wake up and find the Indian basin destroyed by the unbridled powers of nature. Thousands and thousands of people dead and dying. What can one do? How can we deal with such destruction?
My thoughts and heart go out. As soon as Rikke and I get back, we will find a way to donate some money in the hopes that it will find a way to help those in need.
It is heartbreaking that we can’t all be there to help, but such are the machinations of the world, and we do what we can and hope for the best.

Christmas was fun, but after knowing what happened it seemed surrel to know the lives lost. This is still surreal. I feel the impact of the destruction but I also know that it would be really devastating to be there physically. My prayers go out to them
I chose to support MSF.
I also wrote a little post on my blog about this…
Stash Media have set up a system where if you sign up for $50 USD you get a mini subscription to their monthly motion graphics DVD but the best bit is the entire $50 will immediately go to The Red Cross Asia Earthquake and Tsunamis Fund.
You can donate your $50 here and preview the trailer for the latest edition.here.
I gave to the Red Cross: Blog post.
How To Help
Can anyone even grasp 50,000+ lives?
It was surreal and bizzare.
I’m about to donate to the Red Cross, food supplies are most often dropped in during such times, but you can never have enough medical supplies.
The numbers of people killed, or injured is just.. almost impossible to comprehend.
It feels like a movie. I live quite near the epicentre — Malaysia — but felt nothing. It still feels like I am going to wake up, or change the channel each time I read the news about it. I just read the reports that if they don’t deal with the bodies properly, there might be an epidemic that will kill as many as the earthquake + tsunami. Wake up, Kevin. Wake up.
I am sure that tsunamis are now part of Bush’ axis of evil.
That was a reference to an SNL sketch you may or may not have seen, by the way.
Welcome back from Christmas.
A CNN listing with various sites that are accepting donations.
Our thoughts here are with everyone affected. We too are gathering funds to make a donation, although I’d rather fly out there and help in person.
I’ve donated a few money (received at Giftmas) to help the victims, I hope it will help a bit. When you see this photo you’re feeling sad, and sorry. R.I.P. Little angels :(
