A few weeks back, around the time I went to E3 actually, I wrote down a few thoughts on how I could expand my online empire help my fellow Internet patrons.
One of the ideas I got, was to create a reblog of sorts, aimed at well written entries and articles. A noteworthy list for the rest of the world so to speak. Garret Dimon popped up with Notable Words a little after that, and I’ve been a regular reader ever since.
The difference between what he’s doing with Notable Words and what I’d like to do though, is he points to a blog, excerpting usually a single entry, where as I am more interested in picking up individual, thought-provoking entries and articles from around the blogosphere. Writings that have longevity, depth, a striking clarity or cats.
Actually, maybe just cats.
Anyway, another thought I had, was to make it a group-blog of sorts, though I’m not sure if I could relinquish the control. We’ll have to see.
As soon as I’m done with K2, I’m going to write a manifesto (uuh), and then I’ll see if I can’t get that up and running.

Good idea. Although it’s much fun to read short entries on recent topics, I find it necessary to use the internet to share valuable, deep thoughts.
Also, group-blogs can be very interesting when created to write about a general topic like music or movies, for instance.
I think that’s an excellent idea, and I know I’d be keen on reading a blog like that. One of the problems these days—for newcomers to blogging, especially, I think—is locating the blogs and articles that are worth reading. There are hundreds of thousands blogs to be found, but there’s no real way to judge quality other than going to them individually and reading them.
I ran a small four-person “blog” once, before the word was invented. It was pretty fun. I’d like to do it again some time.
I’m all for it. I’ve been in the process of creating something similar, but for the purpose of pulling out portions of texts that I’m reading. It’s not much yet and I’ve yet to find an appropriate place for editorial. There’s been too much personal journaling in my old blog and I think that there, at times, should be a separation. As for my current method of posting copywrited (although the current books listed are out of print) works may have some legal implications.
I do like the concept. Subscribe to content moreso than opinion, something for the cud.
Not a bad idea; I’d probably continue to
be one of your minionsread that sort of content. I certainly agree with Gnome that it’s a little difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff for blog-newbies, and to have this kind of service on a website of suchwordwide dominancerenown would be a plus.
