A sad day for London, England and the rest of the world.

The Wikipedia article is really impressive with its amount of information.

The LiveJournal community has been on the cutting edge, bringing news 30 minutes earlier than most of the large news channels.

I heard of this sad news via this very blog entry, Michael. (Like, oh — my — god!) Here’s an article in (Flemish) Dutch: Terreur in Londen.

Best of luck to everybody in London…

Phu’s got some updates as well.

There are times I wonder if the Human Race will ever get beyond this kind of self-destructive bullshit. The thoughts of both myself and my partner Kath are with the victims and their families in London.

Good News: There was no panic, no chaos. Simply a couple of bombs, much less powerfull than the ones the IRA used to use. In fact, they’re more like the ones that go off in Iraq nearly every day.

List of Confirmed Survivors of London Bombings

This is a list of people that are confirmed as being alive. If someone you know’s name is not on this list, it does not necessarily mean they are hurt, but that no-one has added them yet.

Please add people to the list that you know are safe by filling in this form.

BBC’s in-depth coverage on this is also a key page. Of course, Google news can’t be forgotten either. There is also a large discussion over at Slashdot. (I’m bound to make a mistake with the a href tags, please do correct them if they are broken.)

It bothers me a bit that many of us are playing directly into the hands of the terrorists. It would be better if everyone stayed calm, confident, and strong in the face of these events.

And don’t forget that parts of Africa are still in need of our attention and compassion — far more than London.
