Metropolis

Metropolis Skyline

Seizing a rare opportunity, in-between my swooning over the masterpiece of modern cinema that is Fantastic Four and whatever Adam Sandler is up to these days, Rikke and I went to a showing of the 1927 Fritz Lang classic, Metropolis this evening in Cinemateket. The catch being, that the two-hour black and white and entirely silent film was being accompanied by a pianist throughout.

And it was pretty swanky, I gotta say.

Homo Erectus

By any measure, Kurzweil has had an exceptional career. Now, however, he has a new project: to be a god. And not just because he thinks he can live forever. Within decades, he predicts, he will be billions of times more intelligent than he is today, able to read minds, assume different forms, and reshape his physical environment at will. iPhoto Extractor

If your iPhoto library suddenly goes belly up and crashes iPhoto on startup, you should have a look at iPhoto Extractor. Makes life a good bit easier, even if you do loose some of your metadata. Apple, would you put some effort into it?!

Retro Sci-Fi Books

I’m in the marketplace for a great AMAZING retro sci-fi book of some sort. Think Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Amazing Stories, rocket ships, creepy aliens and damsels in distress. Anyone got any bright ideas?
