Blood Money Beats World Cup

It’s a week until World Cup, and Blood Money beats out FIFA in the UK charts!?… The UK! The most soccer-crazy nation in the world, and they’re playing Blood Money, not FIFA… We’re happy :)

Ring, Reign… Whatever

REIGN of Fire, Not Ring!

Best forum topic ever.

Die Hard: Underworld

Underworld director to do Die Hard 4? Not on my watch!

No Shouting on Flickr

Interesting little ‘feature’ on Flickr. You can’t write all capital letters. Aye, tis be true, try it. It’ll convert it to properly capitalized sentences…

Nofollow Has Noeffect

Dylan says:

Since its enthusiastic adoption a year and a half ago, by Google, Six Apart, Wordpress, and of course the eminent Dave Winer, I think we can all agree that nofollow has done … nothing. Comment spam? Thicker than ever. It’s had absolutely no effect on the volume of spam. That’s probably because comment spammers don’t give a crap, because the marginal cost of spamming is so low. Also, nofollow-tagged links are still links, which means that humans can still click on them–and if humans can click, there’s a chance somebody might visit the linked sites after all.

I of course hate being the obnoxious asshole shouting ‘I fucking told you so!’ (that’s not true), still… I told you so.

Offline Wikipedia?

I’ll be heading to Jutland this weekend, where I’ll spend a couple of days with no Internet access. And it hit me that I would miss Wikipedia quite a bit, as I’ve been using it for reference quite a bit lately. But then I came to thinking, Wikipedia is available for download, but that would require of me to jump through all kinds of hoops to get it up and running.

What I really want is a Wikipedia Offline dashboard widget or something to that effect. Anyone know of any projects to this effect?

PS: Lifehacker has a local Wikipedia tutorial

Following Reboot From Afar

I hereby declare the official tag of Reboot 8.0 to be: reboot8

That’s probably what most people will end up with anyway, but last year there was some overlapping between reboot, reboot7, reboot70 and other variants. I’m going to be tagging all my reboot related stuff with both ‘reboot’ as well as ‘reboot8’.
