Oh hai. So there I was, having fun playing Guitar Hero III on hard (I can scrape by on expert, but only just, and medium is boring to me), when I suddenly have to face off with Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) in order for me to continue playing.
And the idea is great. It’s almost exciting to play as well, except it’s FUCKING INSANELY HARD!
This really fucked up my mood. And the worst part is, I don’t even know why I’m loosing most of the time. Didn’t they playtest this? Didn’t it seem just a tad bit too hard compared with the other tracks on that tier?
I can has cheat? So I can go about enjoying this game, for which I paid an exorbitant amount of money.
Gah.
Update: Alright, so as it turns out, the game will offer you the option to ‘wuss out’ if you suck. But, I’ll have you know that I’ve kicked both Tom Morello and Slash’s asses… The bitches. Hah!
You wait ‘till you come up against Slash, really fucking pissed me off!
I’m not as good at Guitar Hero as most (i only seem to play on easy) but i found that to beat the bosses you need to concetrate on making them fail, you don’t actually have to play all that well yourself.
Not so much of a cheat and better players might frown on this approach as not being “sporting” but hey i’m no good at it anyway.
It’s kind of funny—I had the exact opposite issue with the battles. They’re too easy. There’s a trick to them: You play your first pass, they play theirs, then you play your second (make sure you get your battle gem) and wait until they’re about to get their gem and then use yours. This will cause them not to get their gem and to lose some meter space. Then, get your next gem and hit them with it as soon as they start their next complicated pass.
This helped me beat Morello, Slash and the Devil on the first try on Medium, and Morello and Slash on the first try on Hard (I’m two songs away from the Devil on Hard now), as well as Morello on Expert.
I thought I read somewhere that after you try three times you can proceed anyway, somehow.
Just save up a couple battle gems to use when repeatedly when he has difficult parts, and so he doesn’t get his battle gems. It was really hard for me too at first.
heh.. i just bought GH III, i honestly think its the best game i own (second is halo 3) but being an actual guitarist.. it took me a while to get used to the control.. its not like “clean slate, learn this” its “full slate, wipe clean, then re learn” but its still fun..
and i suck on easy :$ :p
